BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Governed by a Board of Directors, the board comprises of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and up to six Directors who meet each quarter. Elected Directors are nominated by Wholesaler Members and are ratified at the Annual General Meeting.

Richard De Ataide, President
Rick is a Director of Quality Products, an Australian importer and distributor of premium gardening tools, gifts, and accessories. With extensive leadership experience across financial services, telecommunications, utilities, and retail, Rick has held senior roles in both the corporate and technology sectors. As former Board Treasurer and now President of the AGHA, Rick brings a wealth of expertise in corporate governance, risk management, and strategic technology integration. He is known for his ability to align business objectives with technology solutions, driving customer success and delivering measurable outcomes. Rick holds an Executive MBA from RMIT University, along with multiple diplomas and accreditations in business and technology.


Sharlene Toister, Vice President
Sharlene is the owner of Compendium Australia Pty Ltd, established in 2004. Compendium supplies a wide cross-section of retail outlets with uplifting and inspiring gifts that are sure to brighten any recipients day. She has a BA in Education and has worked with the Small Business Development Corporation and Dale Carnegie Training. Sharlene believes computer screens will never replace ‘real life’ human connections, which is why she is so passionate about AGHA and ensuring the longevity of the Gift & Homewares Industry.


Dean Osmond, Treasurer
Dean is the Managing Director of the BPM Group, operating in Australia, New Zealand, The United Kingdom and North America. He is a 40-year Consumer Products industry veteran having attended exhibitions globally since 1981. His company is a foundation member of the AGHA. Dean has exhibited in all the above countries and others including Germany and Hong Kong. Dean has a passion for exhibitions both Trade and Consumer and believes in the future of Exhibitions as a cornerstone method of communicating with our existing and potential customers.


Andrew McLean, Director
Andrew McLean is the General Manager-Australia of global pewter brand Royal Selangor. Andrew has an extensive experience across retail and wholesale operations and has worked in leadership roles for large organisations including Pacific Brands, Coles and Myer. Andrew is passionate about the industry and contributing to retail success stories.


Dane McGrath, Director
Dane is the owner of Woodstock Australia, a 100% Australian owned family business that sells the most beautiful windchimes in the world and innovative gardening products. Dane brings a very experienced but fresh and young perspective to the board and intends on helping and supporting every member and the AGHA.
