Karin Glenning of Reindeer & Castle gets ahead of the Christmas rush with AGHA Gift Fairs.
With the Christmas retail rush only a few short months away, Karin Glenning decided to give her business Reindeer & Castle the extra leverage it needed to achieve sales and marketing targets by exhibiting at the AGHA Melbourne Gift Fair in August.
Glenning’s wholesale store Reindeer & Castle launched in 2015, sourcing unique and stylish interior decor from around the world and bringing the products straight to Australian customers who want to spruce up their Christmas holiday season with a touch of glamour.
Visitors to the showroom in South Yarra, Victoria can expect to find gorgeous themed Christmas gifts including delicate ornaments, designer ribbons, wreaths, stockings, table linen, tableware and more.
Speaking to the Australian Gift & Homewares Association, Glenning explained the story behind starting her business, which also offers a bespoke Christmas design and decorating service for Victorians looking to take their festive decor even further.
“I have always loved beautiful ribbons and festive decor, so when I came across international suppliers who had items that I have seen nowhere else in Australia, I decided to start importing them and I’m very pleased to be able to offer this exclusivity to my clients,” Glenning told AGHA.
“My customers include Christmas shops or smaller businesses who love the unique ribbons I offer and come from all over Australia to purchase them. Many customers own shops associated with crafting or use the ribbons in their own displays. I also have bigger retail stores in the capital cities who buy more of the Christmas decor,” she said.
According to Glenning, the biggest perk of exhibiting at the AGHA Melbourne Gift Fair was the opportunity to meet new people who truly love Reindeer & Castle products and can spread the word, as well as being introduced to potential clients who often live far away.
“I chose AGHA because it is a Member-based industry association and because of that I feel I am being looked out for. The staff are all very friendly and helpful which is a big plus. I also thought the Melbourne venue was very nice and felt well looked after there too,” Glenning added.
“I would definitely recommend others to try AGHA Gift Fairs. It’s the perfect time of year to show how our selection is refreshed and expanded upon each year, and I have plans to begin designing table linens myself. In fact, I am currently working with a new PR person on that specific topic. So stay tuned!”
