This week AGHA speaks with Darlin Australia founder Michelle Lawson about her successful trading at Sydney Gift Fair.
Did Darlin Australia launch a new product range at Sydney Gift Fair?
“We welcomed 2018 with over 90 new products! Our new ranges include glassware, candles, handwoven cushions, rugs and throws.
“Almost all of our pieces are made by hand at some stage during the manufacturing process to give them unique qualities and to prevent them from looking too rigid or mass produced.”
How would you describe the buyer response to your brand?
“Overwhelming in the best way! We have always received comments about the how unique and different our products are, and it was fantastic to get the same response at AGHA Sydney Gift Fair.
“We were absolutely delighted with the number of new stockists and customers. Over 65% of the orders were by brand new customers who had never previously registered with us.”
Why is Sydney Gift Fair an important marketing function for your business?
“Ultimately, the experience of holding and seeing a product in person is far better than anything you could experience online. It also gives us the opportunity to show the faces behind the brand and make real connections with people. As a result, the brand grows from the exposure and we are able to build new relationships while also nurturing existing ones!”
Do you have any other exciting news that you’d like to share?
“We were so pleased with the results of Sydney Gift Fair that we have decided to nearly double the size of the stand for the August Fair in Melbourne. We were blown away with how welcoming and helpful the team at AGHA was. We have exciting things coming up later this year with a rewards program, new products and more! Watch this space!”
