From today, the gift and homewares industry can benefit from an exciting e-commerce tool introduced by popular photo sharing app Instagram.
Australia is the first market in the Asia Pacific to go live with new Shopping feature, which includes a button and tagging system that allows Instagram’s diverse user community to better connect with local and global brands.
By using the tool, retail businesses across Australia will soon be able to offer an easier shopping experience to their consumers by directly tagging the products that are available for purchase within their posts.
“People come to Instagram every day to discover and buy products from their favourite businesses. We want that to be a seamless experience,” commented Jim Squires, global head of business at Instagram.
“Whether it’s a local artisan, florist or clothing store, shopping directly on Instagram has never been easier,” he said.
As part of the local launch, Instagram Australia has partnered with three beta partners to trial the tool, with Country Road, Myer and PepperMayo the first to test the feature.
