Fight for Natural Justice at MCEC
The AGHA has a preliminary discovery application in the Supreme Court to seek access to documents from the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Trust (MCET) and Reed Exhibitions Australia (Reed), to ascertain whether MCET and Reed are making arrangements to exclude AGHA from obtaining space at MCEC in future years.
MCET says it has not made any decision in relation to the gift fair after 2015. Both MCET and Reed are refusing AGHA access to documents that shed light on what discussions have been held between them. On Friday, an AGHA member met with their local member the Hon Louise Asher MP; the Victorian Minister for Tourism & Major Events with ultimate responsibility for MCET. The Minister showed interest in AGHA’s concerns about the matter and the impact it will have on our members.
